We have a need for an Test Equipment Software Engineer in our San Jose Office.  You will make certain that our test-system infrastructure is maintained, expanded and clearly documented. You will do this by developing programming strategies in line with existing infrastructure and future demands. You are then expected to lead the projects and other activities including hands-on programming. We do not expect you to travel significantly, but occasionally travel to our manufacturing sites and relevant conferences might be required. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated, communicative, inquisitive, and driven person who enjoys the start-up environment of a fast growing solid state lighting company.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

· Expand, improve and maintain Xicato’s state-of-the-art test-systems’ infrastructure

EXPERIENCE (musts)

· Programming C, C++ and MySQL in a Windows XP environment

· Test equipment control using RS232 USB protocols

· Python/PHP scripting HTML

· Subversion Version Control and quality control documentation

EXPERIENCE (wants)

· Micro-controller, PLC programming and Automated Test Equipment control

· Analog/Digital PCB design

· Optoelectronic testing (with Spectrometers, Integrating spheres, Goniometers, etc.)

SKILLSET

· Creative Software/Hardware/Firmware Engineer with experience in the design of software

  architectures, device drivers and communication protocols for automated test and measurement

  equipment

· Extensive experience in process-driven software development and testing

· Experience with Client/Server systems and micro-controller development for production testers

· Excellent oral and written communications skills
  Experience from Automotive or Semiconductor backgroud.

EDUCATION

PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electrical Engineering
