Senior LED Packaging Project Leader

We have a need  for a LED Packaging Project Leader.  As the leader in this role you will  make certain that you directly develop LED Company Suppliers, insure efficiency, cost and reliability.  Will also establish requirements, make recommendations on Lighting sources, and conditions for next generation.

Primary Objectives:

·          Identify and develop strategic LED company suppliers.

·          Develop roadmap for LED efficiency, cost and reliability.

·          Evaluate and characterize new LED sources.

·          Establish and communicate new LED requirements to suppliers.

·          Identify and recommend LED operating conditions for next generation products.

Experience with (musts):

·          LEDs and Solid State Lighting systems and applications.

·          Characterization (measurements and test) of LEDs.

·          LED packaging and light extraction optimization.

·          LED thermal, electrical and reliability design optimization.

·          Project management, NPI and product development processes.

·          Must have a minimum of 5 years of work experience.

Experience with (wants):

·          High Brightness LEDs (1W/mm^2).

·          SMT assembly of LEDs, COB, PCB layout and design rules.

·          Power conversion and electronic drivers.

·          LM-80 testing of LEDs.

·          Supplier relationship management.

Skill set:

·          Lab equipment: Integrating sphere, spectrometers and power supplies.

·          Knowledge of analytical tools, MS Office tools and excellent presentation skills.

·          Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Supplier management skills.

·          Team player, self-started, self-motivated and love for a startup environment.

Education: MS in technical field, PhD preferred
