Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Developer (177)

Mav6 is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (MS) Developer to support the Technical Analysis Group (TAG). The TAG uses modeling and simulation tools to conduct analyses of technologies developed to combat Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). The MS Developer must have a solid physics background, an understanding of the mathematical theory behind MS, and strong software engineering skills to support both modeling and programming. The MS Developer is expected to have proven analytical and research abilities and be able to execute project plans that provide solutions to problems assigned to the TAG.  The MS Developer will provide expert advice, assistance, and guidance to the TAG and to clients.

Essential Position Functions:
•    Develop first principles physics based models and algorithms to simulate physical phenomena
•    Conduct research, technical analysis, visualization, and optimization of complex systems that incorporate a broad range of technologies to assess their feasibility and performance in realistic operational environments
•    Design, program, and implement templates, patterns, tools, and processes to allow for rapid development and integration of models, using current and emerging development technologies
•    Work in a team environment to produce individual products that integrate into a cohesive project architecture that is extensible and reusable
•    Contribute to reports that communicate complex ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences
•    Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
•    Travel up to 20%

Minimum Qualifications:
•    SECRET security clearance with eligibility to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance
•    Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline and at least 5 years of experience in a related field
•    Knowledge of commercial and government MS tools and techniques
•    Strong analytical skills and knowledge of numerical methods and approximation theory
•    Experience in mathematical and computational analyses of physical systems, including continuous and discrete event simulations
•    Strong programming skills in C/C++, JAVA, and other languages
•    Experience with object-oriented software design, design patterns, and UML
•    5+ years of experience in software development with a strong understanding of the software development life cycle process
•    Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Qualifications:

•    TS/SCI security clearance
•    Master’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline
•    Experience in parallel and concurrent programming
•    Experience with Matlab, Mathematica, or other symbolic and numeric math packages
•    Experience in DoD modeling and simulation or game development
•    Familiarity with DoD counter IED technologies and systems
•    Experience with any CSD, CFD, CTD, CEM, CDM, or other simulation packages and CAD programs
•    Knowledge of statistics as relevant to simulation analysis
•    Government experience or experience directly supporting DoD clients
