Costume Specialists at Universal Orlando are responsible for:

  • Cleaning and maintaining all costume pieces through hand washing, machine washing, spot-cleaning, and sending key items out for dry cleaning.
  • Monitoring dry cleaning and repair orders as they come into the department, including checking orders in upon return from vendors and notifying managers of any discrepancies. 
  • Monitoring inventory for wear and tear, requesting replacements when necessary and needed. 
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area. 
  • Presetting costumes daily by grouping all costume pieces for each performer, issuing the costumes to the performers.
  • Delivering and picking-up costumes as needed to/from various locations, both on property entertainment venues and off-site storage locations. 
  • Dressing performers as required.
  • Assisting in fittings for new and existing performers, observing character sets or shows for costume appearance, and noting and relaying those observations to management.
  • Assisting with special event preparation and tear down of costumes.
  • Assisting with set up of costumes for new characters or shows by arranging for storage space within the issue area, gathering the relevant pieces, and incorporating new costumes into the current process of issue and cleaning.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. 
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

To perform the role of a Costume Specialist successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
  • High school degree or GED and Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Ability to perform basic costume repairs required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License preferred.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three- syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. 
  • Ability to write simple correspondence. 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

FIELD SUPERVISOR – MILWAUKEE, WI

POSITION PURPOSE
The Field Supervisor is responsible for managing functions outside of the branch office.  This includes the hiring and management of Field Inspectors and overseeing the recruitment and hiring of Installers.  The Field Supervisor must ensure timely completion of all jobs and installations.   This person must ensure the branch has minimal service issues as well as install 100% of back log within assigned territory or area.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Managing and directing the work of two or more Field Inspectors in the performance of their day-to-day duties.
Overseeing the recruitment and hiring of qualified Installers.
Managing two or more Field Inspectors’ productivity as it relates to measure time, services, inspections and Installer capacity, by communicating with Field Inspectors to recognize ways to improve productivity, review revisions to the job process and establish action plans to complete jobs.
Recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating performance, discipline, and termination of Field Inspectors.
Conducting Inspections during and upon completion of jobs.
Resolving Consumer Affairs issues or other customer service issues by visiting job sites to evaluate the problems and following up with the Project Coordinator and/or Field Inspector.
